NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Tribal elders have pledged full support to the Pakistan Army’s ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore peace in North Waziristan, particularly targeting elements of Fitna al-Khawarij, backed by India.
A high-level Jirga was convened by the Pakistan Army in Miranshah, where tribal elders vowed to stand by security forces in combating anti-state activities. Participants paid homage to the sacrifices made by the armed forces, security personnel, and martyrs, reaffirming their commitment to preventing the resurgence of militancy.
Major General Adil Iftikhar Warraich, General Officer Commanding, was the chief guest at the Jirga. In his remarks, he acknowledged the vital contributions of tribal communities in maintaining stability and called their cooperation essential for lasting peace.
In a parallel gathering at the CM House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur stated that a 20-member Jirga from the merged districts will develop a detailed peace strategy. This plan will be presented to both government and military leadership as part of ongoing consultation efforts.
