PESHAWAR: Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah on Wednesday to review anti-polio measures in the province. The meeting, held at the Chief Secretary’s Office, was attended by officials from National and Provincial Emergency Operations Centers.
During discussions, both sides evaluated current polio eradication efforts, campaign results, and existing challenges. Particular focus was given to improving vaccination campaigns, implementing integrated strategies, and ensuring vaccine access for every child. The successful polio drives in southern districts were also reviewed.
Chief Secretary Shah reaffirmed KP’s commitment to eliminating polio, stating: “The government and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are determined to eradicate the polio virus completely, and all available resources are being mobilized for this mission.”
