ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the month of September, offering financial relief to consumers across Pakistan. The new prices came into effect at 12 midnight on September 1, 2025.
According to the official notification, the price of domestic LPG has been reduced by Rs 1.17 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs 214.19 per kg. As a result, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has been decreased by Rs 13.89, from Rs 2,541.36 in August to Rs 2,527.47 in September.
OGRA stated that the adjustment is linked to international market trends, particularly the Saudi Aramco contract price (CP) and the US dollar exchange rate. While the Saudi Aramco CP remained unchanged from the previous month, a slight decrease of 0.69% in the average dollar exchange rate contributed to the reduction in LPG prices.
This is the second consecutive month of price cuts, following a significant reduction in August when the per-kg price was decreased by Rs 17.73. The continued decline is expected to ease inflationary pressures and support household budgets, especially in rural and urban areas where LPG is a essential energy source.
The regulatory body emphasized that producers and distributors are permitted to sell LPG at rates lower than the notified maximum price and assured strict monitoring to prevent overcharging.
