ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Omar Ayub Khan has written a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly demanding permission to meet the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) before the National Security Council meeting.
In his letter, Omar Ayub took the stand that it is very important to meet the PTI chairman before the in-camera security briefing to be held on March 18 so that he can be consulted on matters related to national security.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is the largest political party in the country and it is imperative to include the opinion of its leadership on national issues.
The letter further said that a meeting with the PTI founder is necessary to present the position on matters of national importance in a more effective manner.
He demanded that a meeting be arranged in the morning before the security briefing on March 18 and necessary instructions be issued to the relevant institutions in this regard.
This demand has come at a time when heated debates are going on in the country on security and political issues and PTI is making continuous efforts to consult its leadership directly.
