PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed significant progress in the tourism sector, where more than 7.4 million tourists visited various tourist destinations in the province during the first seven months of the year 2025, from January 01 to July 09.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, during this period, 7.396 million domestic tourists and 4,375 foreign tourists visited various valleys and recreational places. According to the report, the highest number of domestic tourists went to Swat Valley, with a number of 2.941 million, while Galiyat with 1.795 million and Naran/Kaghan with 1.789 million domestic tourists came in second and third place respectively.
Swat Valley was the most popular among foreign tourists, with 2,854 foreign tourists arriving. Similarly, 1,000 foreign tourists visited Kalash Valley and Garm Chashma, 186 in Boni, Mastuj, 175 in Galiyat and 157 in Kumrat. Naran Kaghan and Boni Mastuj lagged behind in tourism trends, with only 3 foreign and 5,193 domestic tourists visiting these places.
These tourism figures were collected by police check posts, levies, tourism police and field officers of development agencies. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government claims that it has also set up 1422 tourism facilitation hubs to facilitate tourists, where tourists can contact for any kind of information or guidance.
