ISLAMABAD: Barrister Saif, the adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister on Information, emphasized the need to engage the Afghan Taliban through political and diplomatic channels during an exclusive interview with Pakhtun Digital on Thursday.
When asked about the surge in militancy in KP, Saif cited multiple factors, including international and regional issues, as contributing to the rise in militant activities and terror incidents.
He noted that the strained relationship between Pakistan and the Taliban-led Afghan government has reached an all-time low, with diplomatic and bilateral ties on the verge of collapse.

Saif urged federal governmentsto address the existing vacuum, resume dialogue, and resolve conflicts through peaceful negotiations.
He argued that engaging the Afghan Taliban politically and diplomatically could help reduce militancy and prevent cross-border attacks by groups such as the Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Islamic State Khorasan (ISKP).
