SHANGLA: The Pakistan Army’s Engineer Corps has restored a major road in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, that had been blocked by landslides. Army engineers, equipped with heavy machinery, remain deployed in Alpuri, while clearance work continues on the Aloch–Chakesar road, which is obstructed at multiple points.
In Buner, road clearance and recovery operations are underway in Bishnoi, Gokand, and Pir Baba, coordinated with the local administration and monitored from the Relief and Rescue Operations Headquarters in Daggar. Authorities confirmed that relief activities will continue until full restoration of connectivity and normalcy.
Under special instructions of Army Chief General Asim Munir, troops are actively distributing rations among flood-affected communities in Buner, Shangla, and Swat. Army helicopters have delivered essential supplies, including flour, rice, lentils, milk powder, tea, salt, and cooking oil, to Khawaza Banda, while food rations were also distributed in Mingora.
Military helicopters are also evacuating injured individuals, women, and children from remote areas to safer locations. In addition, Army medical teams have set up camps in affected districts, providing free treatment and medicines to the victims.
