Pakistan, Afghanistan and China Foreign Ministers to meet in Kabul to promote regional cooperation

An important trilateral conference of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan and China is being held in Kabul today, in which issues related to the promotion of political, economic and regional cooperation between the three countries will be discussed.

The Pakistani delegation will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, while China will be represented by Foreign Minister Wang Xi. After the meeting, a joint statement is likely to be issued by the three countries, in which a consensus is expected to further strengthen trilateral cooperation.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also hold bilateral meetings with Afghan officials on the occasion, in which trade relations, border cooperation and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Afghanistan will be discussed.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will also meet with Afghan leaders in Kabul, aiming to further expand China-Afghanistan relations and discuss prospects for peace and development in the region. Diplomatic sources say the trilateral meeting is an important development in the face of growing geopolitical and economic challenges in the region, which could pave new paths for cooperation, stability and development.

What will be included in the expected declaration? According to diplomatic sources, the joint declaration to be issued at the end of the meeting is likely to include: Emphasis on promoting trilateral cooperation Collaboration in peace and reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan Consultations on regional connectivity, economic corridors and infrastructure projects Progress on a joint strategy against terrorism.
