ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the Pakistan Army is fully equipped to deal with conventional, non-conventional and hybrid threats. He said that we want peace, development and prosperity in the region but will never compromise on our freedom and sovereignty, and any attempt to harm the integrity of the country will be responded to without hesitation.
In a special message to the nation, he extended his heartfelt greetings to all the people of Pakistan and paid tribute to the martyrs and Muslims of the subcontinent who sacrificed for the sake of the beloved homeland.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that Pakistan is not only a strong and impregnable fortress of the Islamic world but also a shining example of interfaith harmony and religious freedom, where religious minorities are still playing their full role in the country’s development.
Field Marshal said that Pakistan has made immense human and financial sacrifices to defeat the monster of terrorism. Recalling the tragic Pahalgam tragedy, he said that Pakistan not only strongly condemned it but also offered a transparent international investigation.
He said that the Indian government, demonstrating traditional stubbornness, targeted the civilian population of Pakistan, however, with the support of the nation, the armed forces responded to the Indian aggression and launched Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, which has become a symbol of the bravery and spirit of the Pakistani armed forces in history.
He once again expressed his determination that Pakistan will continue to fully support the struggle of the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that giving the Kashmiris their right to self-determination is the only just and sustainable solution to the issue.
The Army Chief said that Pakistan stands with the oppressed people of Palestine and the international community should take immediate steps to protect the rights of the Palestinians. India is angry with its own government and army for inviting women of the defeated army to ‘KBC’.
The Field Marshal, while saluting all the martyrs of the freedom struggle, said that their courage, bravery and faith-filled determination are the lamp of our guidance. He said that he has full confidence in the professionalism and war preparedness of the Pakistan Army and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice to protect the borders of the country. He pledged to devote all his energies to the stability and development of Pakistan.
