RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, reaffirmed national unity and strength while issuing a firm warning to India against future hostilities.
“India believed it could strike without retaliation,” said the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). “But the entire nation stood united — Pakistan responded like an iron wall by the will of Allah, dismantling India’s strategy step by step.”
Rejecting any perception of internal rifts, he stressed, “They assumed a divide between the people and the armed forces — absolutely not. This nation and its military have always been one.”
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif revealed that Pakistan had planned strikes on 26 Indian locations in response to aggression. He recounted the tragic martyrdom of a 7-year-old boy, Irtiza, in Muzaffarabad due to Indian shelling, and said, “We destroyed the brigade headquarters responsible for that attack.”
On India’s airstrikes, he noted, “Indian jets launched attacks targeting our children on the 6th and 7th — we responded by striking those airbases.”
He emphasized Pakistan’s restraint and ethical conduct: “Did we hit civilian areas, populations, or religious sites? No. We are a peace-loving nation that values stability.”
But he added a clear warning: “If India repeats such a mistake, our retaliation will be even more forceful.”
Addressing terrorism, the ISPR chief stated, “India’s hand is evident behind every terror attack in Pakistan.” He condemned terrorists who misuse Islam and disassociated them from the traditions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, labeling them as “followers of India.”
He also criticized extremist ideologies, particularly Kharijite leaders who justify foreign alliances in the name of religion. “Islam never allows falsehood to coexist with truth,” he said. “You take support from India — the same country that dishonors Kashmiri women. Shame on you.”
