Rawalpindi: A two-day international conference titled “Nuclear Deterrence in the Era of Emerging Technologies” was organized by the Center for International Strategic Studies, Islamabad. Experts and scholars from around the world attended the event to discuss global strategic challenges.
The conference aimed to encourage dialogue on nuclear threats and present Pakistan’s policy stance to the international community.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, was the chief guest and delivered the keynote speech. He emphasized the challenges posed by new technologies and called for international cooperation to tackle them.
General Mirza stated that peace in South Asia depends on mutual efforts to reduce nuclear risks and maintain strategic balance. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to stability in the region.

Representatives from the United Nations, Australia, Canada, China, Russia, and the European Union attended the conference. The event highlighted Pakistan’s strategic vision and the need for joint efforts to address global security challenges.
