Islamabad rebukes Modi’s remarks on Kashmir visit after Pahalgam incident

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly denounced the recent U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, describing them as a severe violation of international law.

In a statement, the Foreign Office affirmed Iran’s right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter and voiced serious concern over the escalating violence in the region. It stressed the urgent need to protect civilian lives and property amidst rising tensions.

The FO spokesperson warned that further escalation could lead to grave consequences both regionally and globally. Pakistan urged all parties to uphold international humanitarian law and reiterated that peaceful dialogue and diplomacy, as outlined in the UN Charter, are the only viable solutions.

Meanwhile, addressing the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Istanbul, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran. He described the Israeli actions as serious violations of international law and a direct threat to global peace.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Iran’s right to self-defense, criticized the international community’s double standards regarding Israel, and cautioned against jeopardizing regional peace.

He emphasized that dialogue remains the only path to resolving the Iran-Israel crisis and assured that Pakistan will continue to support and contribute to efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region.
