Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar, accused India of jeopardizing regional peace through “irresponsible and provocative actions” during a briefing to Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) ambassadors on Wednesday. He warned that New Delhi’s “dangerous brinkmanship” for political gains threatens stability across South Asia.
Iftikhar called on OIC nations to ramp up diplomatic efforts to counter India’s aggression, highlighting Islamabad’s concerns over Kashmir, water disputes, and unproven allegations linked to the Pahalgam incident. The OIC ambassadors pledged full solidarity with Pakistan, urging de-escalation through dialogue and reiterating support for resolving Kashmir under UN Security Council resolutions.

The meeting followed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s calls for India-Pakistan cooperation, though tensions remain high. Iftikhar stressed that India’s violations of international agreements, including the Indus Waters Treaty, and its repression in Kashmir, demand urgent global intervention.
