ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke on the phone with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and rejected India’s baseless allegations and provocative statements against Pakistan while reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Ishaq Dar briefed the Russian Foreign Minister on the recent developments in the region. He rejected India’s baseless allegations and provocative statements against Pakistan and condemned India’s unilateral and illegal action to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. He also offered an international, transparent and independent investigation.
Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar discussed matters of bilateral interest also and thanked Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. on Sunday and said that Pakistan is committed to protecting its sovereignty and national interests. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed concern over the situation and stressed the importance of diplomacy to resolve issues. He said both sides should exercise restraint and avoid confrontation. The two leaders also discussed the positive trend in Pakistan-Russia relations and reiterated their commitment to deepen cooperation in all areas.
