Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast cloudy weather, rain with thunderstorm

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cloudy conditions and rain accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad and adjoining areas over the next 24 hours.

 

According to the latest advisory, rain and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum. Similar weather conditions are likely to affect various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.

 

In Punjab, strong winds and rain are expected in Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and Jhang. Rainfall is also forecast in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Narowal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Sialkot.

 

The PMD has warned of heavy rainfall and hailstorms at isolated locations, which may lead to localized flooding or traffic disruptions in urban areas. Meanwhile, most districts in Sindh will experience extremely hot and dry weather. However, coastal areas may witness strong dusty winds during the afternoon hours.

 

In Balochistan, the weather will largely remain hot and dry, although light rain is possible in parts of Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Lasbela. The PMD advises citizens to take precautionary measures, especially in areas likely to experience strong winds or heavy downpours.
