Pakistan Navy joins UAE defence exhibition to strengthen maritime tie

DUBAI: A Pakistan Navy ship, PNS Yarmouk, is participating in the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 25) in the UAE, aiming to strengthen maritime ties with Gulf nations, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

High-profile officials, including UAE’s tolerance minister and defence ministers from Romania and Yemen, visited the vessel. This reflects Pakistan’s strong defence relations with the UAE and its active role in global maritime security.

Pakistan has recently increased naval diplomacy, particularly with Gulf nations, to enhance maritime security and defense collaboration.

This aligns with Islamabad’s strategy to ensure regional stability and secure trade routes amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.

The UAE event, featuring naval vessels from eight nations and participation from 65 countries, follows Pakistan’s hosting of the AMAN-25 multinational exercise, which included 60 countries.

Additionally, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia recently concluded the Affaa Al Sahil bilateral naval exercise in Karachi, showcasing firepower and combat tactics. During its UAE visit, PNS Yarmouk also conducted joint exercises with the UAE Navy’s ship Al Emarat.
