Pakistan eased a weeks-long trade logjam on Thursday by permitting 150 Afghan trucks stranded at the Wagah Border to cross into India. The move followed a formal request from Afghanistan’s embassy in Islamabad on April 28, seeking assistance for containers stuck at Pakistani transit points.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry cited “brotherly ties” with Afghanistan as the basis for allowing the trucks, which carried transit goods destined for India, to proceed. The decision aims to resolve delays affecting regional trade routes.
