Pakistan Railways launches special Eid Trains, connecting families for Eid celebrations

Pakistan Railways has unveiled a schedule for five special trains to accommodate passengers traveling during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, aiming to provide maximum convenience for the public during the festive season.

The special trains will operate between various cities across the country, ensuring smoother travel for those celebrating the holiday. The first of these trains is set to depart from Karachi to Lahore on March 26. On the same day, a second special train will leave Quetta bound for Peshawar.

On March 27, a third train will depart from Lahore to Karachi, while a fourth will run from Karachi to Rawalpindi, making stops in Faisalabad and Sargodha. The fifth and final Eid special train will travel from Karachi to Lahore, passing through Faisalabad and Sheikhupura.

Pakistan Railways emphasized that these additional trains are part of efforts to facilitate public travel during Eid-ul-Fitr, ensuring passengers face minimal disruptions. The move comes as millions of people across the country prepare to travel to reunite with family and friends for the holiday.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted that Ramadan will last 29 days this year, with Eid-ul-Fitr likely to fall on March 31. The Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on March 30, marking the beginning of the Eid holidays.

The federal government has already announced a three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, further encouraging citizens to make the most of the festive period. Pakistan Railways’ initiative is expected to alleviate travel challenges and provide a more comfortable journey for passengers during one of the busiest times of the year.
