Pakistan railways teams up with PITB to drive digital transformation

A delegation from Pakistan Railways visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to review ongoing digital projects and explore future partnerships aimed at transforming railway operations through technology.

Led by Pakistan Railways Director IT, Syed Ali Raza, the delegation included senior officials Abdul Qayyum, Khurram Shahzad, and Syed Zafar Gilani. During the meeting, Syed Ali Raza shared an in-depth presentation on the digital systems currently being adopted within Pakistan Railways and outlined upcoming technology-driven initiatives planned to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

The PITB team, headed by Additional Director General Syed Qasim Ifzal, showcased the board’s key digital governance initiatives, demonstrating successful implementations across various government sectors. Joint Director Arsalan Manzoor also participated in the discussions.

The delegation was given a guided tour of PITB’s advanced Data Centre, where they examined the digital infrastructure and discussed possibilities for integration aligned with Pakistan Railways’ digital roadmap.

Commenting on the occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasised the board’s commitment to supporting public institutions with secure and scalable technological solutions. He noted that this collaboration would help drive greater efficiency, transparency, and modernisation in railway services.

The visiting officials expressed appreciation for PITB’s achievements and conveyed a strong interest in sustained collaboration to introduce citizen-focused, modern systems within Pakistan’s railway network.
