ISLAMABAD : The Government of Pakistan has officially recommended former U.S. President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his crucial role in de-escalating tensions between Pakistan and India during a recent military crisis.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pakistan’s government stated that Trump’s diplomatic intervention helped prevent a full-scale war between the two nuclear-armed nations. The crisis began after what Pakistan called “unprovoked Indian aggression,” leading to Pakistan’s military response, Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, which it described as a measured act of self-defense.
