Pakistan sees 51% surge in cement exports over two months

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cement export has increased by 51% during the first two months (July and August) of the current fiscal year.

The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) shared the date that a total of 1.76 million tons of cement was exported in July and August, compared to 1.16 million tons during the same period last fiscal year.

APCMA claimed that in August, cement exports reached 0.75 million tons, marking a 22% increase compared to 0.61 million tons exported in August of the previous year. However, a month-on-month decline of 26% was observed in August exports compared to July, when exports were 1.01 million tons.

Similarly, the domestic cement sales also improved during the first two months of the current year, reaching 7.84 million tons compared to 6.49 million tons last year.

While commenting on the recent increase in Cement exports, Experts claimed that the growth in exports and sales to a surge in construction activities within the country and increased demand for Pakistani cement in international markets.
