Pakistan Sends 300 Agriculture Graduates to China for Advanced Training

ISLAMABAD: The first group of 300 agricultural graduates will leave for China on April 16, 2025, as part of a government-funded training programme, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research announced on Monday.

This initiative is part of a larger plan to send 1,000 agricultural graduates to China for advanced training. The programme, called ‘Prime Minister’s Initiative for Capacity Building of 1,000 Agricultural Graduates in China’, aims to modernize Pakistan’s agriculture sector by providing graduates with the latest skills and knowledge.

The training will cover nine key areas, including farm mechanization, biotechnology, genomics, precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, and high-efficiency irrigation systems. Chinese universities and research institutes will conduct the training, which will last between three to six months.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain will attend a send-off ceremony on April 15, a day before the first batch departs.
