RAWALPINDI: Director General ISPR Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said that Pakistan have successfully intercepted Indian missiles on three key airbases include Noor Khan, Mureed Airbase base and Shorkot Airbase, however no losses to property and lives was reported.

DG ISPR said that the target of the attack was Noor Khan Air Base, however, the immediate action of the security forces prevented possible damage. Local sources said that explosions were intense in nature and their sound was heard far and wide. Panic spread among the citizens and security agencies immediately cordoned off the area. Security sources have claimed that these explosions were the result of an Indian attack attempt, which was foiled by Pakistan’s defense system on time.

Security has been tightened in the area while the public has been appealed to remain calm and avoid rumors. The DG ISPR has revealed that India has targeted three key air bases of Pakistan — Nur Khan Air Base, Mureed Air Base and Shorkot Air Base — in a show of aggression. He warned that now India should wait for Pakistan’s response. Speaking at a press conference, the Pakistan Army spokesperson said that India is not only firing missiles inside Pakistan but also inside Afghanistan, which clearly shows that it is pushing the entire region towards a dangerous situation. The DG ISPR said that the Indian actions represent a highly irresponsible and provocative behavior, which can harm peace and stability in South Asia. He added that all assets of the Pakistan Air Force are safe and fully alert, and all kinds of defensive measures have been taken to protect the country’s airspace.
