ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to formally brief the United Nations Security Council on the latest regional developments amid sky-high tensions with India, according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry on Sunday.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has instructed Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, to urgently pursue a UNSC meeting.
The briefing will spotlight India’s aggressive actions, provocative rhetoric, and attempts to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, emphasising the threat such moves pose to regional and global peace.
This diplomatic initiative aims to present the international community with a clear picture of the evolving situation and Pakistan’s concerns.
