Pakistan’s T20 vice-captain, Shadab Khan, is expected to miss the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 due to a shoulder injury. The all-rounder underwent surgery in the UK in July and is currently in recovery, which could take at least three months.

Shadab was already ruled out of Pakistan’s recent series against Bangladesh and the ongoing West Indies tour. Since the Asia Cup is scheduled from September 9 to 28 in the UAE, his recovery timeline suggests he will only be fully fit by October, making his participation unlikely.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet announced a replacement for Shadab in the squad. Pakistan’s first match in the tournament is against Oman on September 12, followed by the high-voltage clash against India on September 14.

Shadab’s absence will be a big blow for Pakistan, as he is a key player in both batting and bowling departments. The PCB will soon decide on his replacement for the tournament.
