Pakistan to host first-ever digital FDI Forum tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum on April 29–30, 2025 — a landmark international event designed to position the country at the forefront of the global digital economy.

Organized by the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication in partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), the Forum is expected to attract delegates from over 30 countries, including representatives from more than 200 leading IT and telecom companies, over 50 startups, and a wide range of policymakers, investors, and innovation leaders.

Among the international participants, a high-profile UK delegation, led by Dr. Samina Zehra, Economic Minister at Pakistan’s High Commission in London, is generating significant interest. The delegation features an impressive lineup of professionals and strategic investors specializing in AI, quantum technologies, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.

Notable members include Steve Suarez, Alina Timofeeva, Asim Khwaja, and Shahzad Manzoor Khan, with discussions underway on a potential $100 million investment pipeline.

Speaking to a private media outlet ahead of the event, Dr. Zehra expressed optimism about Pakistan’s investment climate. “Pakistan’s business environment has truly transformed,” she said. “The momentum in our tech sector is growing, and international investors are noticing. With strong frameworks and abundant talent, we are ready to scale.”
