The Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) has announced a complete trade boycott with India at all levels. Chief Organiser Ahmed Jawad stated that Pakistan’s business community stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and is ready to make any sacrifice in the national interest.
According to the PBF, India stands to suffer a financial loss of approximately $1.14 billion annually if it is denied access to trade via Pakistani territory. In addition, India’s annual agricultural imports from Afghanistan, valued at about $640 million, will also be severely impacted by the trade disruption.
Ahmed Jawad strongly rejected the allegations levelled by India against Pakistan, calling them baseless and entirely false. He said that it has become a pattern for India to remain silent for some time and then suddenly attempt to blame Pakistan for its internal issues through unfounded accusations.
The PBF emphasised that the trade boycott will remain in effect until India is willing to resolve all outstanding issues based on mutual respect and equality.
