ISLAMABAD: Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, along with Senator Tahir Khalil Sindu, attended Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican. The two-hour ceremony was attended by world leaders and around 250,000 people.
During sideline meetings, Minister Hussain spoke with former US President Joe Biden, who recalled his 2008 Senate visit to Lahore. He also met FIFA’s President, who praised Pakistan’s football manufacturing and showed interest in promoting football in the country, expressing a desire to visit soon.
Additionally, Hussain held talks with UAE’s Minister for Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, as well as ministers from Russia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
After the ceremony, the minister visited the Pakistani Embassy in Italy to review services for overseas Pakistanis. He was briefed on efforts to improve consular services and expressed satisfaction over strengthened ties with the 300,000-strong Pakistani community in Italy.

This was Hussain’s first visit to a Pakistani mission after hosting the Overseas Convention in Islamabad
