ISLAMABAD: Over a hundred Pakistani students enrolled in various Iranian universities have returned to Pakistan amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, local media reported on Sunday.
According to the Pakistan International Medical Students Association (PIMSA), at least 80 students from Hormozgan Medical University and 97 from Zanjan Medical University have already departed for Pakistan. The association added that several students from universities in Tehran are also moving toward the border.
PIMSA stated that it is in constant contact with relevant authorities regarding the situation of Pakistani medical students in Iran. The association also acknowledged the vital role of the Pakistani Embassy in Iran for its ongoing support and assistance in ensuring student safety.
PIMSA further urged authorities to take swift and effective measures to safely evacuate the remaining students, stressing the importance of ensuring that no student faces danger or distress during the crisis.
