Pakistanis eligible for 5-Year UAE visas after resolution of issues: UAE Envoy

Pakistanis can now apply for a five-year visa following the resolution of existing issues, announced Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, on Tuesday.

This announcement was made during a meeting between Al-Zaabi and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s House. Al-Zaabi stated, “Visa issues have been resolved; Pakistanis can obtain a five-year visa,” as quoted in a press release from the Governor’s House. He also extended an invitation to the governor to visit the visa center at the Karachi consulate.

Tessori expressed gratitude to the UAE diplomat for his country’s investments in the province, particularly in Karachi. The ambassador commended ongoing projects under the governor’s initiative.

However, reports indicate that UAE authorities have recently intensified their scrutiny of Pakistanis arriving in the country due to concerns over alleged involvement in crime and unlawful activities, such as begging. On December 23, a Senate panel was informed that all Pakistani travelers to the UAE must undergo vetting and verification by the police. Additionally, travel agents have been instructed to adhere to this requirement.
