July 2025 was the world’s third-hottest July on record, escalating risks of heatwaves, floods, and wildfires, according to climate agencies. The European Union’s Copernicus confirmed the trend, noting severe impacts like Pakistan’s floods and Canada’s uncontrollable forest fires.
The World Meteorological Center (WMC) warned of incoming heatwaves in Pakistan, West Asia, Europe, and North America, with temperatures exceeding 45°C in some regions. Iran and Iraq even saw 50°C+ extremes.
Meanwhile, oceans hit record warmth, with Arctic ice shrinking to 10% below average—the second-lowest in 47 years. Antarctica’s ice also dwindled to third-lowest levels. Experts stress that while monthly records fluctuate, long-term climate change effects remain unchecked.
