The U.S. Department of Justice has revealed that Sharifullah, an individual arrested in Pakistan, has confessed to his involvement in the Kabul attack during interrogations conducted by FBI officials.
Sharifullah reportedly identified two of the four attackers, leading to their subsequent arrest.

U.S. officials stated that Sharifullah played a critical role in surveilling law enforcement agencies and checkpoints managed by both U.S. and Taliban forces.
He has been charged with conspiracy to execute a devastating attack and providing financial support to a terrorist organization. Sharifullah is set to appear in court in Virginia on March 5, 2025.
In a related development, U.S. Secretary of Defense expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its cooperation in apprehending Sharifullah, who is also known by the alias Jafar.
Hegseth emphasized the joint efforts of the U.S. and Pakistan in capturing the alleged mastermind behind the Kabul airport attack.
