Pakistan’s Junior Squash hopes dented by first-round losses

Nasir Iqbal advances to quarterfinals in Asian Squash Championships

Pakistan suffered a disappointing start at the World Junior Squash Championship, with three of its four players crashing out in the first round.

Anas Ali Shah fell to Hong Kong’s Justin Cheng, Yahya Khan lost to America’s Muhammad Haq, and Amir Arif was defeated by America’s Hart Robinson.

The sole bright spot was Abdullah Nawaz, who secured victory against Macau’s Kang Leung in the round of 128. Nawaz advances to face Canada’s Rohan Paliwal in the second round.

The three defeated players will now continue their campaign in the consolation plate round. The early exits represent a significant setback for Pakistan’s team at the tournament.
