Parachinar sit-in against road closure and unrest continues

PARACHINAR: The sit-in against road closure and unrest continued for the seventeenth consecutive day on Tuesday outside the Parachinar Press Club. Participants say the sit-in would continue until the demands are not met.

According to the protesters, the administration has decided to conduct an operation at four places in Lower Kurram. Sanitization operations would be conducted in Bagan, Mandori, Charkhel and Dad Kummar.

They said a large number of displacements continue from four places, and residents of the area have started a protest sit-in on the main road in Bagan against the operation.

Protesters said the operation was not acceptable at all as it would further force the local people to leave their houses and be displaced.

According to the participants, the ongoing sit-in would continue until the main road is opened and the peace of Parachinar City is restored.
