SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Authorities have imposed a curfew in Upper and Lower South Waziristan to ensure public safety amid rising security threats.
Deputy commissioners of both districts issued official notifications for the curfew, which will remain in place indefinitely. It takes effect today at 6:00 am.
As per the notification, movement will be completely restricted on March 17, 2025 (Monday), from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The curfew will shut down several key routes. In Upper South Waziristan, it will affect Beni Zai Ragzai to Jandola, Tanai, and Sarokai to Jandola routes. Cadet College Road will also remain closed from Wana Zalai Camp. However, Wana-Gomal Zam Road will stay open for travelers.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security forces and follow curfew rules to avoid inconvenience or security risks.
Meanwhile, police repelled two terrorist attacks in Lakki Marwat late Friday night. Heavily armed terrorists attacked Dadiwala and Pezu police stations, but officers retaliated with full force. The attackers fled, and no casualties were reported.
