Nationalist parties should distance themselves from banned outfits. Says Ali Muhammad Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan, while talking to the media after the National Assembly session, said that the government did not take the recent incident in Balochistan seriously and instead of holding a special discussion on it in the session, it continued with routine proceedings.

Ali Muhammad Khan said that we had demanded that a special session be called on the Balochistan issue, but the Speaker did not listen to us and continued with routine proceedings. In the end, only Omar Ayub was given the opportunity to speak. He added that what is the use of such an assembly where major issues cannot be discussed.

Criticizing the government, he said that none of the Prime Minister, Interior Minister and Defense Minister were present in the assembly, while the Defense Minister should have issued a clear policy statement and taken the nation into confidence, but despite the passage of 24 hours, nothing has been clarified yet.

He added that all nationalist parties should distance themselves from terrorists. There are nationalist parties in every province, and they love their soil, so it is not appropriate to call them terrorists. However, they should strongly condemn any such incident to make it clear that they do not support terrorism.

Ali Muhammad Khan said that the problems of Balochistan will not be solved by military action alone, but a political solution is also necessary. The government should hold talks with the political parties of Balochistan so that the real terrorists can be identified and collective action can be taken against them.

He concluded by saying that Pakistan must adopt a unified strategy so that peace can be established in Balochistan and terrorist elements can be defeated.
