LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday confirmed that Pakistan will host its maiden T20 tri-series later this year, with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan joining as participating teams.

The series will run from November 17 to 29, with matches shared between Rawalpindi and Lahore. Pakistan will face Afghanistan in the opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on November 17, followed by the Afghanistan–Sri Lanka clash on November 19.

In a landmark occasion, Afghanistan will play their first-ever T20 International on Pakistani soil during the tournament. The remaining five matches, including the final, will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, with the title decider scheduled for November 29.

Build-Up to T20 World Cup

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed Syed described the tri-series as a crucial opportunity for teams to prepare ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“This event will not only deliver exciting cricket but also allow Pakistan and the visiting sides to test their line-ups and fine-tune strategies ahead of the global tournament,” he said in a statement.
