PCB moves to separate PSL as independent company

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started the process to separate the Pakistan Super League (PSL) administratively. The board plans to register it as a private limited company.

Chief Commercial Officer Salman Naseer shared the update while speaking to journalists. He said all paperwork for “Pakistan Super League Private Limited” is complete.

The PCB will make a formal announcement after PSL Season 10 ends. The tournament began on April 11, 2025.

The move follows years of discussion. The PCB’s governing board approved the plan in November 2016 during Najam Sethi’s tenure as PSL chairman.

The plan aimed to let PSL run under its own governing body, free from PCB control.

Delays followed due to legal issues, objections from the SECP, and concerns about PCB officials joining a private company.

Franchise owners, who have demanded financial transparency, have welcomed the move with caution.
