Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Implements Monsoon Contingency Plan and Distributes Relief Goods to Districts
Peshawar: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has commenced the implementation of the Monsoon Contingency Plan for the 2025 monsoon season. PDMA is actively providing relief goods to district administrations throughout the province based on their specific needs.
Following special instructions from Mr. Nek Muhammad Khan, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Relief, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement, PDMA has begun distributing relief items from its warehouses to ensure timely and effective management of any potential emergency situations.
The agency has distributed the following items according to the demands received from district administrations: 6,072 family-sized tents, 6,330 hygiene kits, 10486 blankets, 10206 mattresses, 5,330 sleeping bags, 7,502 pillows, 2,709 life-saving jackets, 10070 tarpaulins, 7,408 plastic mats, 8,284 mosquito nets, 8,880 kitchen sets, 239 dewatering pumps, 8,335 blankets, 1,780 searchlights, 3,985 jerry cans, 828 ropes, and 2,012 solar lights.
According to Asfandyar Khattak, the Director General of PDMA, the agency maintains constant communication with all districts in the province, ensuring that all resources are utilised effectively for immediate response and relief operations in case of any unexpected disasters during the monsoon season. The agency’s primary objective is to protect human life and property, provide immediate relief to the public, and ensure a prompt response to emergencies. This proactive and organised initiative by PDMA reflects its full preparedness to manage any potential emergencies during the monsoon.
