PESHAWAR:To ensure a peaceful Eid-ul-Azha, the Peshawar district administration has imposed Section 144 restrictions across the city. These measures aim to maintain law and order and protect citizens’ lives and property during the holiday period.
Specific activities are now strictly banned, including aerial firing, the sale and use of toy guns, playing loud musical instruments (bajas), and performing one-wheeling stunts on motorcycles. Separately, the Punjab government has also announced a ban on swings.
Officials state these restrictions are necessary for public safety during Eid celebrations and will remain in effect for one week. Anyone found violating the rules will face immediate legal action.
Police and other law enforcement agencies have been directed to increase patrols throughout Peshawar. They are instructed to report any illegal activity to higher authorities promptly.
