PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police have significantly intensified targeted search and strike operations across Peshawar to bolster security ahead of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS).
These operations, focused on maintaining law and order during the important religious observance, were conducted within the jurisdictions of Chamkani and Matni police stations. Senior officers led the actions: SHO Chamkani Javed Marwat and SHO Matni Wajid Khan commanded separate operations involving substantial police forces.
The raids saw participation from multiple units, including the Elite Force, Rapid Response Force (RRF), Ladies Police, and Sniffer Dog squads, alongside other law enforcement agencies.
Police targeted individuals on their radar, including declared criminals, illegal residents, illegal arms holders, and other criminal elements. The operations resulted in arrests and the recovery of weapons and narcotics. Investigations are currently ongoing with those apprehended.
The Peshawar police confirmed that these targeted search and strike operations will continue without interruption to ensure public safety and combat crime during the Chehlum period.
