PESHAWAR: In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, Peshawar Police have announced a detailed security strategy aimed at maintaining law and order across provincial capital. The plan, which involves the deployment of over 3,500 officers and personnel, is designed to ensure safety during key religious and communal activities, including Taraweeh prayers and Iftar gatherings.
The security measures will focus on safeguarding mosques, commercial centers, food markets, and other densely populated or sensitive areas.

Police patrols will be intensified citywide, with additional mobile teams assigned to monitor the district. The plan also includes the use of armored personnel carriers (APCs), the Ababeel Squad, the City Patrolling Force (CPF), and specialized rider squads to maintain a constant presence at high-risk locations.
To further bolster security, checkpoints and snap checks have been reinforced, with particular attention given to identified hotspots in all divisions. During Sehari and evening Iftar gatherings, police commandos will be on high alert.
Special arrangements have also been made to ensure the safety of worshippers during Taraweeh prayers.
