Peshawar police neutralize two armed robbers in intense shootout

PESHAWAR: Two robbery suspects were killed in a shootout with police near Mianwala forest in the early hours of Friday, while their accomplices managed to escape. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Pindigheb police station.

According to a police spokesperson, the deceased were identified as Nauman Khan and Amir Saeed, both residents of Peshawar. The suspects, along with other armed individuals, had blocked a road near Mianwala forest and were looting passersby when police confronted them.

During the exchange of fire, Nauman Khan and Amir Saeed were killed, while their accomplices took advantage of the darkness to flee the scene. Senior police officers promptly arrived at the site following the incident, and the bodies were sent to a hospital for post-mortem examinations.

A case has been registered, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Authorities have intensified efforts to track down the remaining members of the robbery gang.
