PESHAWAR: A senior lawyer in Peshawar on Thursday instituted a petition against the provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf at the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for using the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resources on political rallies.
The Peshawar High Court senior lawyer Intikhab Chamkani, filed a writ petition against the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Peshawar High Court, seeking action against the government for using provincial resources in their political rallies.
While talking to Pakhtun Digital on Thursday at the Peshawar High Court, Intikhab Chamkani said a client had come to him and wanted a case against the government, who told him that continued protest rallies in Peshawar had badly impacted their businesses.
He said his client was a transport businessman who claimed he lost millions of rupees due to the constant protest rallies and road blockades. The real estate business was also affected.
According to the senior lawyer, he nominated Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, ministers, police heads and other authorities
“We added articles 16 and 17 to ensure free mobility and movement, which is the responsibility of the government,” He asserted.
The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for March 2,4, and authorities have been summoned by the court.
