PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday extended the protective bail of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Shandana Gulzar in the cases registered against her.
A divisional bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Aurangzeb heard Shandana Gulzar‘s plea seeking details of the cases registered against her across the country.
Deputy Attorney General Sanaullah informed the court that the federal government has two cases against the petitioner. He told the court that an FIA inquiry was underway against her.
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that the FIA inquiry has been suspended by the Islamabad High Court,
The bench questioned if there is any NAB case, has the report come?
NAB prosecutor Muhammad Ali told the court that the anti-corruption watchdog report has yet to come and will be submitted at the next hearing.
The court extended Shandana Gulzar’s protective bail till April 15 and barred authorities from arresting her in all cases.
Later, the court sought a report from NAB and adjourned the hearing till April 15.
Earlier, An Anti-Terrorism Court in Peshawar on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for a sitting Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) and five others in connection with the May 9 attack on the Radio Pakistan building.
ATC judge Wali Muhammad heard the case. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarian (PTI-P) MPA Arbab Wasim and several other suspects failed to appear before the court.
