PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court has issued notices to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and federal governments seeking response on a plea filed against deteriorating law and order situation in the southern areas of the province.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal heard the petition filed on the poor security situation in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The court issued notices to the federal and provincial governments, including other parties, directing them to submit their reports on the next hearing.
The lawyer for the petitioner told the court that the law-and-order situation in the southern districts is extremely precarious. The lives of the people have become unsafe, while no important steps have been taken by the government yet.

The court issued notices to the federal and provincial governments, the Interior Secretary, the IG Police, and the relevant authorities, seeking a report from the parties on the next hearing.
