The Peshawar High Court has issued a ruling concerning the deteriorating condition of the Hazara Motorway. The court has directed the National Highways Authority (NHA) to complete the repair work on the motorway within three months, instead of the previously estimated six months. Additionally, the NHA must submit a report to the Peshawar High Court upon completion of the repairs.

The decision was made following statements from the petitioner’s lawyer, who noted that travelling on the Hazara Motorway has become increasingly difficult due to disrepair in certain areas. During the proceedings, the NHA’s Director of Maintenance informed the court that repair work was already underway and would take approximately six months to complete. The court, however, stressed the urgency of the situation, emphasising the need for swift action to ensure public convenience. Consequently, the written decision mandates that the repairs be completed within three months, along with a report on the progress.
