The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought a detailed report from the Commissioners of Peshawar and Mardan divisions over the deteriorating Law and order situation.

During the hearing on Friday, the court issued a written order of the previous hearing on the petitions related to law and order and drugs in Peshawar and Mardan divisions.

It said Commissioner Peshawar and CCPO should submit a detailed report regarding street crime, street children, out-of-school children,
“Commissioner Peshawar should submit a detailed report regarding child welfare, adulteration mafia, old and environment-damaging vehicles,” The order reads
It said they have come to know that ice is being manufactured and sold openly in the Pang Ghar area of ​​Mohmand district,
“Ice is a serious threat to human health, and the youth are being affected more by it,” The court order said.
The court asked the authorities what actions had been taken against drug dealers, and how many FIRs had been registered?
How many trials are going on in the courts, and what is the conviction and acquittal rate in such cases?
PHC also asked the DPO Mohmand and the Regional Police Officer Mardan Division should submit a detailed report in this regard within 14 days
There have been complaints that the behaviour of police personnel is not good with the public
Due to such behaviour of the police, the public’s trust in the police is lost
CCPO Peshawar and the Regional Police Officer should take immediate steps in this regard
Organise training sessions for police personnel, and provide awareness about public relations and professional skills
Such steps should be taken so that the public’s trust in the police is restored
CCPO Peshawar and RPO Mardan should submit a detailed report in this regard within 14 days
