PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has made a significant breakthrough in the case related to land allocated for government departments in the Khyber district and ordered the production of all records.
The case was heard by a bench comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Fazal Subhan.
At the beginning of the hearing, Justice Syed Arshad Ali inquired about the nature of the land and for what purpose this land was acquired.
The petitioner’s lawyer replied that this land consists of 500 Kanals.
The Assistant Commissioner informed the court that 300 Kanals of this land have been allocated for rescue, 12 Kanals are allocated to CTD, while the district administrators complex and bypass road have also been constructed on this land. He further explained that this land was acquired under Section 4, however, work on it has been stopped due to court orders.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer raised the objection that this land consists of 500 kanals and 15,000 people live here, but compensation for the land has been given only to a few approved persons.
On this objection, the Additional Advocate General informed the court that formal action has been taken in this matter, and money has also been provided to the affected people. He further said that the cases related to this matter are pending with the civil and referee court judges, therefore, the matter will not be heard in the Peshawar High Court.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court decided to hear the matter in detail at the next hearing, seeking the complete record of the case.
