PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday stayed the district development initiative scheme while hearing a petition instituted by a lawyer against the DDI scheme funds unjust distribution.
The petition was heard by Justice Fazal Subhan and Justice Farah Jamshed here on Tuesday and the opposition MPA from ANP, Nisar Baz also appeared in the court.
After hearing the case, PHC issued a notice to the relevant parties including the provincial government and sought their response.
“The provincial government has released funds for the District Development Initiative Scheme,” Petitioner Sultan Muhammad Khan argued and added the DDI scheme also comes under the umbrella scheme.
According to the petitioner, lawyer, the provincial government has also issued tenders for the DDI scheme and it has been ignoring the opposition members of the assembly in this scheme too.
The lawyer requested the court, to issue a stay order on the DDI scheme.
After detailed arguments, the Peshawar High Court issued a notice to the provincial government on the petition regarding the DDI scheme.
